weather permitting: notes for a performance, was a book designed for artist, louise adkins.

the book acted as a host for a script based on a performance. the performance took place and was transmitted from the summit of black combe, hodbarrow point and birkrigg common.

the vision of the book was to make it look like a solid concrete trig pillar, with the front cover debossed with the ‘spider’ graphic found on trig pillars. the book includes embossed braille tip-ins, as the artist worked closely with mind’s eye description, to assist the translation for individuals with visual impairment.

given the mountainous scenary of the different locations, the book was set in adobe jenson pro, for it’s rocky, protruding serifs.
